For proposals submitted on or before 01 November 2023, the abstract acceptance or rejection notifications have been sent to authors via email (with assigned submission ID).


We are inviting teachers and staff members from all disciplines in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to present at the Teaching and Learning Innovation Expo 2023. There will be two types of presentation formats - oral presentation in themed parallel sessions and poster presentation.  

 

We welcome all ideas and practices related to teaching and learning in higher education ranging from the course to the institutional level, regardless of whether technology is involved or not, including but not limited to: 

  • The Post-Pandemic Landscape of Education and Beyond 

  • Curriculum Designs and Enhancements 

  • Pedagogical Methods and Innovations (e.g., Active Learning, Flipped/Blended Learning, Authentic Learning, Gamified Learning, Service-Learning, etc.) 

  • Emerging Educational Technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Extended Reality, Robotics, etc.) 

  • E-Learning Tools, Platforms and Applications 

  • E-Content Development and Open Educational Resources (e.g., MOOC, SPOC, Micro-Module, etc.) 

  • Assessment and Evaluation in Education 

  • Big Data and Learning Analytics 

  • Student Engagement / Students as Partners 

  • Inclusive Education

  • Sustainability and Social Responsibility in Higher Education 

  • Internationalization of Education (e.g., Interdisciplinary Collaboration, University-Industrial Partnerships, etc.) 

  • Training and Professional Development for Staff 

  • Other Topics Related to Teaching and Learning 

Presentation Formats

  • In-person poster presentation [Guidelines], OR

  • In-person live oral presentation in themed parallel sessions [Guidlines]

Remark: For CUHK-Shenzhen colleagues and invited speakers, abstracts would be submitted to designated online form. For queries, please do not hestiate to contact Ms Cherry Tsoi and Ms Vanessa Kiu at expo@cuhk.edu.hk.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • Target audience: CUHK teachers and staff members.

  • All applications must be submitted online through the web link mentioned above.

  • Abstarct must be written in English. The abstract should be 100 to 250 words in length.

  • Abstracts received after the deadline (24 October 2023) may not be considered for oral presentation, only for a poster.

  • Applications will be reviewed. Relevance to topics relating to the teaching and learning in higher education and the originality of the approach adopted or suggested are our major considerations.

  • Please note that all accepted abstracts, submitted supplementary information, poster designs will be housed in the event website and related event platform for public access.

  • Authors of the accepted abstracts can choose whether to submit a short paper of their abstract(s) or not. The submission should be prepared in English and as MS Word file (.doc or .docx) with the following format:

- Page Limit: 4-7 pages including diagrams and references (single-line spacing and in normal margin).

- Font & Size: Times New Roman (12-point font size).
